Getting started: from sign-up to your first invoice
Create an account, fill in the business profile, choose a business mode, add a customer and an item, raise and finalise the first invoice, and find help when you need it.
Transcript
This tutorial goes from an empty account to a finalised GST invoice, in five steps.
Create your account
Start with your name, the business name, an e-mail address and a password.
Tell Falcon about the business
Next, the business profile: what appears at the top of every invoice. Only the two names are required. Your state matters: it decides whether a sale is charged CGST and SGST, or IGST. Then your GSTIN. Falcon checks its check character, its state code and the PAN inside it as you type. Logo, bank details and numbering can wait. Finish now, and the rest stays in Settings. A short guided tour opens on the first day. Skip it now — it waits in Help whenever you want it.
Choose a business mode
Now tell Falcon what kind of business this is. The menus, the words on screen and the details each item keeps all follow the mode. A hardware shop picks Hardware and building materials. Switching later never deletes anything.
Add a customer and an item
Add your first customer. A GSTIN is enough to set their place of supply. Then an item: its HSN code, unit, rate and GST rate are filled in for you on every invoice line.
Raise and finalise the invoice
Now the invoice. Choose the customer, then pick the item from your catalogue. The preview is the document your customer receives. Same state, so the tax is split into CGST and SGST. Review and finalise gives it a permanent number. After that it is corrected with a credit note, not edited.
Where to find help
Whenever you need a hand, Help has guided tutorials — the first-day tour, choosing a mode, the first invoice — to start, resume or replay. That is the whole loop: account, profile, mode, customer, item, invoice.
